Garnik’s native village of Artavan has lush green forests—illustrating that the Vayots Dzor region is far more diverse than the usual picture of dry and rocky landscapes. Garnik, who also works at the World Wildlife Fund as the leopard’s caretaker, has collaborated with HikeArmenia to guide you along various hiking trails in Vayots Dzor. He can also organize horse-riding trips to nearby Hayeli lake. Some of the most beautiful trails rich with cultural and natural monuments are the Artavan - Gomq - Martiros trails. Wildlife lovers can participate in special animal watching tours.
