Family-run since 1998, Old Bridge is a boutique winery offering tours and tastings, paired with locally produced goat cheese, olives, and honey. Depending on the time of year, visitors may participate in grape-picking, distillation, or bottling. Red and white wines, as well as some reserve labels, are available in their tasting rooms.
With the smallest amount of wine produced in Armenia, Old Bridge’s high-quality products result from communal responsibility and work. The family established a small vineyard in order to unite winemakers from various professions, including engineering, medicine, and computer programming.
As owner Armen Khalatyan says, “We started planting grapes with the help of our family members—from grandfathers to grandchildren. Now when we look at the photos that were taken 15 years ago, they remind us of the atmosphere filled with warmth, joy, love, and hope.” All of the winemakers at Old Bridge attribute their special wine to the energy, love, and emotion that they transmit by hand to the wine.
Nearby is a historic bridge, dating from the 13th century, which gives the winery its name—a fun spot to explore and to walk off some of that fine food and drink. Old Bridge also owns a cozy B&B of the same name and offers overnight packages for visitors who would like to spend more time in the region.
