By Region

Armenia is divided into ten regions and the city of Yerevan, its capital. Each region has a distinctive culture, formed by its long history and specific geography. In 2018, Armenia’s capital celebrated the 2,800th anniversary of its founding, and the regions have equally ancient origins and histories to discover. The central regions include Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, and Kotayk. The southern regions include Syunik and Vayots Dzor which are connected to each other both historically and culturally. And the northern regions include Lori, Shirak, and Tavush, the latter two famous for their lush forests and rolling hills while Shirak is home to Gyumri, the city of arts and crafts. Our experiences are concentrated in the northern and southern regions, but you will also find useful information about Armenia’s central corridor within the website.
