Explore your creative side by painting in batik under the guidance of local artists Arman Badeyan and Margarita Malkhasyan at their Buduart workshop and studio. Enjoy tea and coffee while you work, with wine also available for purchase to further stimulate your creative side.

Graduates of the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Art, the husband-and-wife team of Arman and Margarita enjoy sharing their artistic talents with all visitors. With them, you will participate in the creation of batik scarves from beginning to end. First you will trace the design with melted wax, which keeps the design in place while you apply vividly colored paint. When you melt off the wax, you will reveal a beautiful, brightly painted accessory.

Dilijan's beautiful natural settings and swaying pine trees have inspired many of Arman’s and Margarita’s designs. In their workshop in the heart of Dilijan, you may absorb some of that same creativity and take home a piece of that Armenian inspiration.

Workshops last approximately two hours and are available for up to 15 people. Arman and Margarita also offer painting lessons and a jewelry-making workshop at their studio.

Meet your host

Dilijan’s beautiful natural setting and “drunk forests” of swaying pine trees have long inspired Arman Badeyan and Margarita Malkhasyan. As painters and jewelry makers, the couple founded Buduart studio, a gallery which combines a space for guests to explore their creative side while enjoying the company of friends and potentially a glass of wine. At the Buduart workshop and gallery, artists, art lovers and craft enthusiasts may gather to make jewelry or paint batik in a relaxing friendly environment under Arman and Margarita’s guidance.
